7App is the app Drumcondra Seventh-day Adventist Church in Dublin uses to plan its services and the volunteers who serve in them. The order of service, the roster and the chord charts live in one place, on every phone, even with no Wi-Fi on stage.

THE CHALLENGE

Every Saturday ran on group chats

Like most churches, Drumcondra organised its services through a pile of WhatsApp messages, printed chord sheets and spreadsheet rotas. Leaders chased volunteers one by one, musicians played from charts in the wrong key, and nobody could see at a glance who had confirmed for Saturday.

The church needed one place that answered three questions: what happens in the service, who is serving and have they confirmed, and what do the musicians play, without asking volunteers to learn a complicated system.

OUR APPROACH

Scheduling and music in the same app

The unusual part is that the roster and the music are connected. When the worship leader adds a song to Saturday's plan, every musician on that service opens that exact song, in that exact key, from their own schedule.

A running order that keeps time

Leaders build the service from templates, songs and elements, and the app recalculates the clock as items move.

  • Start time and length for every item, end time for the service
  • Reusable templates for a standard Sabbath service
  • Songs show when they were last played, to avoid repeats

Fair, informed scheduling

Assigning a volunteer shows who is free, who served least recently and who has a conflict, with the reason.

  • Blockout dates and double bookings flagged, never silently ignored
  • Pending, confirmed and declined in the same colours everywhere
  • A multi-week matrix that makes gaps obvious

A volunteer's week in one screen

Volunteers see what they are asked to serve, accept or decline with one tap, and mark dates they are away.

  • One-tap accept, with an optional reason to decline
  • Invitations, approvals and team placement handled in-app
  • Email and push reminders, plus a Thursday roster digest for leaders

Built for the stage

Chord charts work offline, transpose instantly and can follow the worship leader live across the band.

  • Transpose, capo and lyrics-only singer mode
  • Live band sync: song, scroll and highlights follow the leader
  • The church events calendar, pulled straight from SharePoint
  • Foot pedal support and a screen that never sleeps

THE PRODUCT
